Congo Basin
The Congo Basin contains the world's second-largest tropical forest after the Amazon and a broad mosaic of rivers, dense forests, savannas, wetlands and tropical peatlands across Central Africa.
Boundary: This is a transboundary ecological discovery object, not one legal or protected-area boundary. Great-ape species and subspecies occupy different parts of the basin; a basin-level link does not imply uniform distribution or population condition.
